NCAA Championship Track and Field Meet

Second in the nation. An amazing competition for the Women of Oregon. They can stand proud that although they were without some of their key athletes, they almost won this prestigious track meet. It took Texas A&M a 49.14 split by Jessica Beard on the way to a stadium record in the final event, the 4X400 relay, to break the tie with the University of Oregon and take the championships away from Oregon.

Sarah Henderson and Erich Lyttle, co-directors, and I were there recording the drama as it unfolded.  It should have been an easy trip from Portland with a short layover in Denver, but thundershowers in Des Moines kept us in Denver overnight. Luckily we made it to the meet by Friday morning, so we were there to witness the next two days of track and field brilliance. We filmed the competition, and interviews with athletes, coaches, administrators, and family members there to support the Ducks.
